Pulling from the 1920 book Helmets and Body Armor in Modern Warfare by Bashford Dean, YouTube user Chubachus recently shared several photos of the experimental helmets designed by the United States military during World War I. As the video's explanation states, some of the helmets were partial modifications of French Adrian and British Brodie helmets, the majority of the helmets are genuinely terrifying.
